Detroit-based Generix Motors announced last Friday the recall of its GX-490 Sports Coupe for replacement of a defective safety system. All owners of the vehicle have been requested to bring them to the nearest Generix dealership for an upgrade. Generix said the company has already sent out official notification letters to those in possession of the vehicles.
Due to faulty programming in the car's computer system, front-seat passenger airbags have been found to malfunction on occasion, and Generix will be installing an update and replacing two small vehicle components. In a press statement written by Davis Martino, public relations director for Generix, the problem is described as minor. Martino also writes that Generix takes every precaution for the safety of those that drive our vehicles, and even the smallest problem should be rectified. The recall is expected to cost the manufacturer close to $70 million, but most agree that such a responsible corporate reaction can only be beneficial for the public perception of Generix Motors.

I purchased a GX-490 Sports Coupe six months ago. I recently read in an article from my local newspaper that your company has recalled the vehicle. I have not received a notification letter yet, so the news was surprising to me. I would like to bring in my carfor the necessary work but am unsure of where to take it. Unfortunately, I could not find any dealerships listed for my region on your Web site. The nearest Generix outlet seems to be in Madison, and that is quite a long distance for me to drive. Could you please let me know where I should take my vehicle? I live in a small town in Wisconsin called Monroe, with a zip code of 53556. Naturally, the closer to my town the dealership is, the better it will be for me. I hope you will notify me as soon as possible either by e-mail or by contacting me at (608) 555-3456. This is a serious issue for me, as I have two young children that ride in the vehicle, so I would like to take care of the problem quickly.
