Walkerton City Council Approves
Withering Heights Project
February 15 — Larocco Construction Firm has won approval from the city planning committee to build a retirement community called Withering Heights in Walkerton. The residential area is to be built on the former site of the St. Catharines Motel on Highway 55, within walking distance of the city shopping mall.
This is great news for Larocco Construction; however, before the company can officially begin to build, the project designs must be approved by the State Safety Council (SSC). The retirement village’s design includes 39 town house units divided equally into 3-building blocks. Each townhouse unit will have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a private garage. Additional features include a group banquet facility and fitness center. Pricing will not be finalized until final SSC approval has been granted.
Walkerton resident, Steven Patterson started Larocco Construction Firm more than 15 years ago and now runs it with his brother James. City mayor, Julia Flatt, said that city administration is thrilled with how the Patterson brothers have dealt with the project so far.
