In an attempt to outdo the Beatles Sgt. Pepper album this group released the particularly unsuccessful LP Their Satanic Majesties Request in 1967. The 3-D album cover features hidden images of the Fab Four and contains trippy psychedelic songs like 2000 Light Years from Home (sound clip).
This band would be among the first to pioneer the use of the moog synthesizer on their album Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn Jones Ltd (1967). Not even the Beatles had experimented with this revolutionary instrument yet. In fact, the vocalist on the highly psychedelic track Daily Nightly (sound clip) owned one of the first twenty synthesizers ever sold.
The Small Faces were, second only to The Who, the worlds most successful mod band. The group would become increasingly psychedelic in sound, as demonstrated by this song which reached Billboard #16 (sound clip).
