From: Lowell Dawson To: Andrea Hicks Subject: Properties Date: September 9 Hi Andrea, I’ve been thinking more about yesterday’s appointment, and I’d like to share a realization I had. Remember how I didn’t like the properties you showed me, even though they fit my budget and space requirements? Well, the problem was that they didn’t have enough natural light. I'm going to be spending long hours in the office I choose to open my law firm in, and sunshine would help keep me in a positive mood. So at our next appointment, please show me places with windows that let in a lot of sunlight. Thanks, Lowell |
Foxhead Rock Foxhead Rock is the large rock formation visible on the rise opposite this point. Named for its resemblance to the head of a fox, it is one of the most famous geological features in the park. The 27-foot structure is made of sandstone shaped over millions of years by natural processes like erosion. Though Foxhead Rock is visible from other points on the trail, this spot offers hikers the best photo opportunity. Please do not leave the trail and attempt to approach the rock, because the ground surrounding it is steep and rocky. Thank you. Lundes National Park |

From: Zaters Hardware To: Wallace Glover Subject: Announcement Date: November 1 Dear Valued Customer,
Zaters Hardware is sorry to announce the discontinuation of our Zaters Points program. For the last eight years, Zaters Points have been a great way for our customers to earn discounts on our products. Unfortunately, the cost of running the program has grown to the point where it no longer makes sense to continue offering it. Starting today, no new applications for the program will be accepted. However, we will allow existing participants to continue accruing Zaters Points until November 30 and spending them until January 31. Please keep the latter deadline in mind as you determine how to use your remaining points. We will send out periodic reminder e-mails about the situation as well. Lana Norton [11:54 A.M.] Hi, everyone. I'm at a doctor’s appointment that’s running long, so I'm not going to be able to teach my 1 P.M. aerobics class today. Kyeong-Mo told me to text all of you to see if one of you could do it for me. Henry Russell - [11:54 A.m.] I would, but I'll be in the middle of a pilates class at that time. Kenya Hunt [11:55 A.m.] I'm finished with my scheduled classes for the day. Could you give me some more details? Lana Norton [11:55 A.m.] It's a low-intensity, dance-centered class that runs from 1 to 1:50 in Studio 3. It doesn't require any equipment, and the students are usually older women. Kenya Hunt [11:56 A.m.] OK, that sounds doable. I’ll take it. What kind of music do you usually play? Kyeong-Vo Jeon [11:57 A.m.] Thank you, Kenya. I'll send out a text to let the regular attendees know that the class will go forward with a different instructor. Lana Norton [11:58 A.m.] I actually have a video of the class that I recorded a few weeks ago. It should give you an idea of the music to play and the kind of moves that we usually do. What's your e-mail address? Kenya Hunt [11:58 a.m.] It's [email protected]! That'll be really helpful. Lana Norton [11:59 A.m.] No, thank you for volunteering to substitute! Let me know if you have any more questions. | should be able to check my phone periodically during the rest of my appointment. |
Claire Fields 390 Holt Drive 4C24+8G Bridgetown 18 March Ruthie’s 2090 Philip Road 3CV4+9Q) Bridgetown To Whom It May Concern: My name is Claire Fields, and I am a frequent customer at your shop. I love your iced mochas, and I think your service is excellent. However, as a wheelchair user, there is an accessibility issue that I would like to bring to your attention. Your service counter is quite high. It seems like it is about 150 centimeters off the floor. I cannot see things that are set on it, I struggle to reach over it, and it even obstructs my view of your menu. It would probably be quite expensive to replace your counter, so I am not asking you to do that. Instead, I am writing because I heard that you are opening new locations in other areas of Bridgetown. Please consider equipping them with more wheelchair-friendly facilities. Also, I suggest contacting the Barbados Disability Authority (BDA) for more tips on accessible design. Its Web site is www.bda.bb. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter, and good luck! It is always exciting to see locally-owned businesses thrive. Sincerely, Claire Fields |
Evarson Farmers’ Petition Introduced in State Parliament SCAVELL (8 September)— Today, member of State Parliament Naomi Black submitted a petition created by farmers in the Evarson area protesting a government plan to reduce their water licences. Water licences authorize their holders to use specific, large amounts of groundwater. —[1]—. The government’s reduction plan would slowly shrink the amount of water that licence-holders in the agricultural industry are entitled to by 10% over the next five years. It was developed by the Evarson Water and Agriculture Taskforce (EWAT) as a way to combat the regions increasing dryness. “Everyone has to adjust,” said Alvin Brooks, EWAT’s chair. “The state government has already cut its own water use through actions like replacing grass in public parks with stone gravel. The licence plan will encourage farmers to use water more efficiently.” However, the farmers complain that reductions will unfairly devalue their land and damage the local economy. —I[2]—. Courtney Grant, head of the Evarson Farmers Association (EFA) and one of the creators of the petition, said, “We already use water efficiently. All that the reductions will do is lower our output.” EWAT representatives and EFA members discussed the plan at a public meeting soon after its announcement last month, but were unable to find a mutually acceptable compromise. —[3]—. The association then wrote and circulated the ‘“Petition for Responsible Water Resources Management”. The petition proposes that the state government invest in finding or developing additional water sources instead. —[4]—. Now that it has been officially introduced into State Parliament, it will be referred to the appropriate parliamentary committee for review. |

From: Kara Griffin To: Luis Rodriguez Subject: Good news Date: April 24 Hi Luis, I have some good news from my meeting with Mr. Bobrova at Falcon Gallery this morning—he agreed to donate a Gabrielle Searcy painting! It's valued at nearly $500, 50 it could bring in a pretty high bid. It turns out that Mr. Bobrova loves Felix Forest, so he was very happy to help with our conservation efforts.
You should talk to him in advance about how to collect and transport the piece, though, because I suspect that that might be difficult. If you do need to use a packing or transportation service, make sure you keep the receipts and any other paperwork. We'll need them for accounting purposes after the event.
How are your efforts going? Have you heard back from the amusement park yet? Their admission tickets would be such an attractive item for families. Also, I noticed that Greg hasn’t met his first deadline. Do you know why? I thought that you might have heard something since your desk is next to his. - Kara |

From: Brendan Echervarria <[email protected]> To: Amanda Aoki <[email protected]> Subject: Re: Questions Date: February 5 Dear Amanda, I'm happy to address your question about my invoice for this month. First, you are correct that my rewriting rate increased this year. I'm sorry if it took you by surprise, but the new rate was stated in the rate sheet that I sent to your predecessor in December, and he agreed to it. I'll forward you the e-mail exchange separately so that you can confirm this. My guess is that he forgot to update my information in your company files. As for your request to recommend other potential contributors, I do know someone that you may be interested in. Her name is Melody Thorpe, and she’s a former colleague of mine from the Yorkville Herald who recently became a freelance science writer. She has a simple, engaging style that you can see in her old articles on the Herald’s Web site. If you decide you’d like to contact her, her e-mail address is [email protected]. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Unless you tell me otherwise, I'll continue working on my current 250-word news article. Sincerely, Brendan |
From: Ed Padgett To: Rose Tate Subject: Office decoration Date: September 30 Attachment: Office_decoration_request
Welcome to Lunsford & Associates! My name is Ed Padgett, and I'm the office administrator for your floor. Since you’ll be very busy after you begin work, you might want to start shopping for your new office now. Our office decoration policies are as follows: : - Employees who have private offices (hereafter, “officeholders”) should decorate them within one month in order to make a good impression on clients. - Upon hiring or promotion, new officeholders may spend up to $1000 on office decoration. - Purchases can be requested by submitting an electronic Office Decoration Request form to an office administrator. - Requests to spend any additional funds at this or a later time must be approved by the office holder's manager. - Decorations must be tasteful and professional. - Nearby officeholders should be notified of decorating activities in advance in case it may disturb their work. For reference, your office is roughly 10 feet long by 10 feet wide. Also, you may remember from your visit that it has grey marble floors and already contains a desk, a small sofa, and a bookcase—but of course you can replace any of those items if you'd like. I've attached the necessary form to this e-mail. Please let me know if you have any questions about this information. Sincerely, Ed |

Hammell Wins Best Actor Prize
at Vellon Springs
VELLON SPRINGS (May 17)—At its awards ceremony on Sunday night, the jury of the Vellon Springs Film Festival awarded Best Actor to veteran actor Christopher Hammell. Other big winners among the 22 independent films and countless performers competing in the festival included Shouting in the Wind (Best Picture) and Sylvia Mathis (Best Actress for her role in The Advance).
Mr. Hammell won for his superb performance in Our Fence. Directed by Vitomir Holmwood and costarring Felicia Carlson, Our Fence tells the story of a retired Seattle truck driver (Mr. Hammell) who finds his quiet life interrupted when an artist (Ms. Carlson) and her young daughter move into the house next door. - The moving film was an audience favorite and has been picked up for late summer distribution across the United States by RTY Films.
The award may represent a career comeback for Mr. Hammell, who stopped appearing in major studio-produced films about a decade ago after a string of disappointing box-office results. He has worked steadily in theater productions and smaller films since that time, but Our Fence is the first to gain widespread recognition.
During his acceptance speech onstage at the Vellon Theater, Mr. Hammell thanked Mr. Holmwood, Ms. Carlson, and the festival jury, and finished by saying, “It feels like I've been given a second chance. I can’t believe it.”

Reviews of: Our Fence
“More drama than comedy”
I went to see this movie because the TV commercials for it made it look really fun but it turned out to be quite sad in some parts. I'd still give it a positive review, though. The cast was great.
Silvia Flores, Sept. 3
“Great job all around!”
Christopher Hammell definitely earns his festival award, but I think Ebony Francis is the real talent involved in this film. I'll certainly be seeking out more of her work.

http://www.gwi-insulation.com/services/sprayfoaminsulation Home | Services | Customer Testimonials | About Us Spray Foam Insulation Spray foam insulation is the highest-priced type of home insulation, but it also forms the strongest barrier against heat and cold. Our customers have told us that their home energy bills dropped 50% or more after its installation. The foam comes in two types: open cell and closed cell. Open cell foam is less expensive and better at filling hard-to-reach corners, while closed cell foam provides more protection against extreme temperatures. In Mattin County, both types must be applied by a licensed expert, though a city permit for the work is only required in Vorvett. The application process rarely takes more than a day.
