From: Cody McNair To: Samantha Nelson Subject: Re: Slow Internet speeds Date: March 29 |
Hi Samantha, I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing slow Internet speeds with the company provided laptop you received last week. We believe you when you claim that the problem is not your home Internet service. You're not the first person to report slow connections on a company laptop, and as we've looked into the matter, it's become clear that the issue is the virtual private network (VPN) we use. The VPN provides a secure connection to our network from other locations, so it is important and cannot be removed. We're currently looking into other VPNs that may have less of an issue with speed. You will of course be informed if we decide to switch providers. Unfortunately, giving this explanation is all that we can do for you at this time. Feel free to forward this e-mail to your supervisor in reference to the productivity concerns that you mention. And please let me know if you have any further questions. Dixonette Hotel

Vancouver, BC V54 1R9
Dear sir or madam,
I stayed at your hotel during my visit to Vancouver on December 2-4, and I would like to share with you a memorable experience that I had. - [1] -.
On the last day of my stay, I was about to drive my rental car to the airport when I found that its battery had died. I contacted the rental car company, but their representative said that they would not be able to send assistance for two hours. - [2] -. Fortunately, I had this conversation on my mobile phone in the lobby, and Delray Scott, a member of your front desk staff, overheard it. He offered to jump-start my rental car using his own vehicle and cables. - [3] -. I gratefully accepted, and his cheerful and efficient work allowed me to arrive at the airport on time.
While I was satisfied with many aspects of your establishment, it was this act of kindness that I found most impressive. Mr. Scott deserves to be rewarded for being willing to use his valuable supplementary abilities to help out a guest in need. - [4] -. I hope that you have some kind of policy in place for this.
Sincerely,
Travis Quinn

Guy Wallace, 11:24 A.M. | Hi, everyone. I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering where to get images to post on our Web site. I need some for the latest post I'm putting on our blog. |
Jerry Grant, 11:25 A.M | Sorry, I don't know. |
Sania Najjar, 11:26 A.M | I think Mark used Photofield to download stock photos. Didn't he give you the log-in information for that site? |
Guy Wallace, 11:26 A.M. | Let me check. |
Guy Wallace, 11:28 A.M. | Ah, yes, I see it! Thank you, Sania. |
Peter Chen, 11:29 A.M. | How are you finding it filling in for Mark, Guy? |
Guy Wallace, 11:30 A.M. | It's tough. There have been a lot of experiences like this, where the information needed to do his work isn't available or isn't labeled clearly. |
Peter Chen, 11:31 A.M. | I had the same issues when I took over Robin's position last year. We really should be documenting our job processes more clearly. It's in the company handbook, after all. |
Guy Wallace, 11:32 A.M. | Oh, really? I had no idea. |
Peter Chen, 11:33 A:M. | Most employees aren't aware of it. I'm going to speak to Amy about encouraging everyone to set aside time to create documentation. |
Jerry Grant, 11:34 A.M. | That's a great idea. And please don't feel hesitant to ask us questions, Guy. It's better than guessing and making a mistake. |
Guy Wallace, 11:35 A.M. | Thank you. I appreciate that. |
District News Tribune October 22 |
Three businesses in the Vine Heights district-Barksdale Bakery, Triollo Grill, and Raley's Laundromat-have closed recently. Barksdale Bakery, a regional chain that also has a location in Balboa Shopping Mall, closed its Vine Heights location on October 9. Company spokesperson Brenda Chiu said it "had become difficult to compete" in the area, as a number of neighborhood coffee shops have been expanding their offerings of baked goods. - [l] -.
Triollo Grill, a Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant, has been closed for two weeks, and a "space available" sign now hangs on its door. The popular eatery had been operating at 56 Dew Street. - [2] -. Its owner, Antonio Cruz, said he will reopen his establishment in a larger space near Alvin Park.
Raley's Laundromat closed last week. It offered customers self-service, coin-operated laundry machines, along with laundry soap vending machines. "With all the recent development, the neighborhood is changing," said owner Dolores Raley. "The new apartment buildings, such as the Deltonne, are equipped with in-unit washers and dryers. So demand for our services is decreasing." She added that, as part of a trend, several local laundromats are being converted into restaurants. - [3] -.
Ms. Raley moved her business to 17 Butler Avenue, where she has also started to offer commercial laundry services. - [4] -. Only one self-service laundry establishment, Laundry Breeze, still exists in the Vine Heights district.
The district is also left with only one eatery, Tampico Burrito, that serves Mexican food, white a food truck, Ivy's Quick Bites, offers its only Japanese food. |

From: Cynthia Lopez <[email protected]> To: Tae-Woo Park <[email protected]> Date: November 22 Subject: Feedback survey |
Dear Cynthia, I have finished compiling the answers from the feedback survey we distributed to students on the last day of class. We had overwhelmingly positive reviews for your class, and all of the students stated that they would recommend it to others. Because of the popularity of your teaching, I don't think two classes per term is enough. If possible, I'd like you to teach an additional class for the winter term, a matter we can discuss further at the staff dinner this Friday. It will be somewhere within walking distance to the institute, and it's tentatively scheduled for 7 P.M. Pablo is making the arrangements, so please let him know if you will attend alone or with your spouse. Thanks for your hard work! Tae-Woo |
EyeChat Mobile Version 3. 0 Top User Reviews |
Kerry Lucas ★★★★☆(4.5 stars) Eyechat is great for keeping in touch with family and friends from anywhere. I've tried several of the video chat apps available on Allivanta, and this is the best one. I just wish that it would let you customize or hide the menu-its color hurts my eyes. |
Dominick Frazier ★★★★☆(4 stars) I'm glad that Eyechat is offering "invisible" status again, but the range of emoticons is still really limited. It should allow other companies to make emoticons for its platform, like Spangler does. |
Chien Nguyen ★☆☆☆☆ (1 star) It doesn't let you use Mooth to add money to your account, even though that's much safer than handing over your credit card information. I will be uninstalling. |
Yolanda Castillo ★★★★☆(4 stars) Please let users stop this app from starting automatically! My Titus phone doesn't have great battery life, and EyeChat makes it run out even more quickly. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Reliable video and sound quality. |
Plattormula Releases EyeChat Version 3.1 for Mobile By Adriana Russell April 8, 10:35 A.M. |
Earlier this week, Platformula launched the newest version of video chat app EyeChat for mobile devices. Version 3.1 features a simplified., menu that can be hidden to allow more space for video. It also supports greater integration, allowing users to charge their account through Mooth and import contacts from StarMail. The update notice from Platformula even boasts that Eyechat now allows users to buy emoticons from third-party developers, though these do not seem to exist yet. In addition, one popular feature from the desktop version of EyeChat, screen-sharing, has finally been made available in the mobile version. Platformula bought EyeChat's developer from its founder, Gus Danielson, three years ago. The first update that the company spearheaded, 2.0, was met with strong criticism from users. Several of the preexisting features that were removed from that version, such as the ability to set the user status to "invisible", were restored in 3.0. Online reviews of version 3.1 have been positive so far. Platformula is expected to update the mobile version of EyeChat Business next. |

Hi Susan, After the meeting the other day, you mentioned that you'd be willing to look over the description I wrote for my Mowery Building listing. Here it is: Professional office space available in Mowery Building. Corner location with open central area plus three rooms (one with sink), two single-stall bathrooms, and storage closet. Equipped with dedicated heating and cooling system, stain-resistant carpeting. Elevator access. Receives natural light throughout the day! Then I'll add our usual paragraph about the Mowery Building. What do you think? I'd appreciate any advice you can give as a senior agent. Thanks, Eduardo |

From: Darlene Bullard To: Amir Rarndani Subject: Potential office space Date: January I 9 |
Hi Amir, I know that you liked the Gilbardo Street office that I showed you on Monday, but I've just learned about a new space that might be an even better fit for your business. It's a second-floor corner space in the Mowery Building that gets a lot of light. It's larger than the Gilbardo Street office, but the price per square foot is the same. The Gilbardo Street office is a little closer to downtown, but since the Mowery Building is right next to the highway, there won't be a big difference in convenience. And the Mowery office has a shorter lease term, so if you don't like it, you won't have to stay there long. I really think you should take a look at this new space. Let me know if you're interested, and I can schedule a viewing. Regards, Darlene |

Dear Mr. Somchai, Thank you for letting us know about your visit this afternoon. While we do usually require groups like yours to give us at least one day's notice before arrival, we will luckily be able to accommodate you this time. Since you mentioned the Over the Mountains exhibition that is normally located on our third floor, I have to warn you it is currently on loan to the Meehan Museum in the United Kingdom. There is related merchandise available in our first-floor gift shop, but if the exhibition is the main attraction for your group, you should consider rescheduling your visit for August, when it will be on display here again. If you decide to come anyway, we will look forward to seeing you this afternoon. Best, Vera Gordan Operations Manager Corlingdale History Museum |

From: Oliver Cortez To: Arlene Foster Subject: RE: FWD: Webster Road sign Date: September 2 |
Dear Council member,
Director Buchanan passed your inquiry on to me, as my team handles road signs in the city.
To answer your main question-yes, there would be limitations on the design of the sign. It must be either the style of general traffic signs (green with white lettering) or the style of Shalkon city informational signs (light gold with white lettering and the city logo). Also, note that the latter option is only available for signs that stand on one side of the road.
I'd be happy to meet with you this week to discuss these options in more detail. I'm free on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning. Which would you prefer?
Sincerely, Oliver Cortez Shalkon Department of Transportation |
City Names Stretch of Webster Road after Cummings (September 29)-A section of Webster Road between Coleman Street and Young Avenue has been co-named in honor of Frances Cummings, Shalkon's first female mayor. Shalkon city council member Arlene Foster, who proposed the tribute, gathered with members of the late Mayor Cummings's family and others near the intersection of Webster Road and Coleman Street yesterday for a small unveiling ceremony. The crowd cheered as a tarp was pulled off a new sign bridge that spans Webster Road and proclaims the subsequent half-mile of road to be "Frances Cummings Way". This section of road was chosen because of its proximity to Talmage Park, which Mayor Cummings famously revitalized during her tenure in office. Council member Foster and Edmund Cummings, Mayor Cummings's son, gave speeches highlighting the mayor's positive impact on Shalkon. |
