  • If the age of a mother is 3 times in the comparison of her daughter before the period of 10 year.
Question 1:
If the age of a mother is 3 times in the comparison of her daughter before the period of 10 year. 10 year later from the present date, the mother age would be 2 times of her daughter. In that situation what should be the age ratio of them at the present time?
A. 13:4
B. 9:2
C. 7:3
Feedback If the x year is the present age of her daughter.
Mother age 10 year ago = 3(x-10) = (3x-30) year
Present age of the mother = ( 3x-30+10) = (3x-20) year
After 10 year age of the mother = (3x-20 +10) = (3x-10) year
Son age after the period of 10 year = (x+10) year
∴ (3x-10) = 2(x+10) ⇒ x = 30
Mother present age = (3x-20) year = 70 years.
Daughter present age = 30 years.
Required ratio = 70: 30 = 7:3
D. 5:2
