Sorry I haven’t been able to respond to you sooner. I have been on a book tour through France and Spain, and have hardly had a minute to myself. I have just returned home in London and finally have the opportunity to respond to my backlog of e-mails.
I’d like to begin by thanking you for your generous offer. I would be honored to speak at the event, and I hope it is not too late to include me in the schedule. Unfortunately, I will be unable to arrive until the second day of the conference as I have a prior engagement on the 19th.
