High Efficiency Fume Hoods from Belker Science
Almost every type of laboratory needs fume hoods so that its scientists can safely work with chemicals that give off hazardous gases. Unfortunately, fume hoods are also among the most energy-hungry pieces of lab equipment. That is why Belker Science created its range of high efficiency fume hoods. Each has a sophisticated controller and three- speed blower that together can reduce the hood's airflow usage and thus its energy requirements. In addition, the special motor uses less energy than a traditional motor. Available in 2-foot, 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot models, the hoods also feature a vertical safety glass sash for maximum safety and usability.

From: Linda Murphy <[email protected]> To: Jabril Nasser <[email protected]> Date: February 2 Subject: Replacing fume hoods |
Hi Jabril,
As you requested, I spent last week's trade fair looking for ways for the lab to save money, and I was most impressed by what I saw at Belker Science's booth. Their high efficiency fume hoods seem to be just what we're looking for. Our fume hoods are all over 10 years old, so I'm sure that replacing them would result in noticeably lower energy bills. Plus, the salesperson mentioned that Wisenway, our energy provider, is offering an “EE” (energy efficiency) rebate through May, so if we hurry, we can get a rebate of up to $500 for upgrading.
You can see the collection of models at www.belkerscience.com/fumehoods/he. I think we should take advantage of the change to move up a size from our current 4- foot hoods, but I know that depends on our budget.
I hope this recommendation is helpful! -Linda |
